Eudaimonia

The Eudaimonias Project

In memory
of Nirmit

Nirmit lives through his words.
Always curious. Always becoming.

A life well lived.
A legacy still growing.

Some lives leave you with more to carry forward than memories alone. Nirmit’s was guided by curiosity, purpose and a belief in becoming a little better, one step at a time.

Though his time with us was far too short, the ideas he believed in, the work he began and the words he left behind continue to offer glimpses of the way he saw and lived in the world.

At twenty-four, he built this site and called it Eudaimonia, after the Greek word for flourishing: a life well lived. It was a reflection of how he wanted to live, with intention, curiosity and the patience to build something meaningful over time.

What follows is a glimpse into that life, and into the ideas and values that mattered to him.

01 / A life in chapters

Nirmit’s Journey

Four chapters of a life built deliberately — in work, with people, and in what he left for others to carry on.

A life, intentionally built

Nirmit was twenty-four when he built this site. He called it Eudaimonia, after the Greek word for flourishing: a life well lived. Growth sat at the centre of how he lived. He believed progress comes in small steps, and that a good life is assembled slowly rather than arriving all at once. To the Greeks, eudaimonia was something reached through action rather than granted by chance, and Nirmit took the same view. He took active control of his life and made the choices that would let it flourish. This site is his demonstration of that approach — a working model of how he believed a life should be built.

Curiosity into purpose

He pursued it the same way in his work as in himself: one step at a time. In 2020 he went to King’s College London to read biomedical engineering, and found in medtech a field that rewarded curiosity, patience and a readiness to learn. He graduated with first-class honours in 2024. It shaped the entrepreneurial mindset he built over the following years — the drive to do what others had not yet done. That was behind his dream of a wearable device that would make everyday life easier, and he kept testing himself against it: research, study, several startups, each challenge treated as the route to the next step. He co-founded Shine Blue to build a low-cost treatment for newborn jaundice, designed for clinics that could not afford the alternative, and later helped take a healthcare wearable through its clinical trials. The thread never changed. Technology should reach the people who need it.

A life built with others

Nirmit was as committed to people as he was to his goals. He believed a good life is built with others, so he listened to those around him, learned from them and supported them. He was one of the founding members of Operators, a community for young people working in startups, and he did far more than attend: he brought his own friends in, made the introductions and welcomed the newcomers, long before anyone thought to give that role a name. What began as a few strangers in a pub is still growing, and much of what it became was his doing. He was always available to listen and to give advice, which made him a constant presence in the lives of those around him: someone to turn to, and a pillar of both honest challenge and support. By his example he taught patience, a virtue easily overlooked and necessary to the long path he had chosen.

What we carry forward

This site is the clearest expression of how he lived — ambitious and patient, always moving forward, always with people alongside him. It is also a legacy that lives on in the people he touched. Those he spoke with, mentored and supported can carry it forward by adding to it, so that the values he lived by keep growing, one step at a time.

A life, in pictures

With family, with friends, and on his own — a few of the moments the people around him will carry forward.

02 / His 25th birthday

An evening for Nirmit

On his birthday we are launching his site properly, as The Eudaimonias Project — in a room full of the people he spent his time with.

Monday, 19 October

Nirmit would have been twenty-five.

DateMon, 19 Oct 2026His 25th birthday
The eveningThe Council RoomKing’s College London6.30 – 8.30pm
AfterThe Last Judgement8.30 – 10pm

We are gathering in London that evening to mark it, and to put something of his into the world.

In the spring he built a website. He told people it existed; he never told anyone what was in it. He called it Eudaimonia, the Greek word for a life well lived. It is the clearest thing he left, and on his birthday we are sharing it with everyone, as The Eudaimonias Project, and building a community that will contribute to it.

He built it in three parts, after the Greek: Episteme, what he had learned; Theoria, what he made of it; Pragma, what he was doing about it. He left Pragma unfinished.

King’s have given us the Council Room at the Strand campus — the building he walked into most days for four years. We would like it full of the people he spent his time with.

The shape of the evening

  1. ArriveDrinks and something to eat. Come straight from work.
  2. WelcomeHarkirit, Nirmit’s father. Five minutes.
  3. The Project goes liveThe site shared with everyone, in the room, that evening.
  4. The readingFrom the book he was in the middle of. Three or four readers, picking up where he stopped.
  5. Open floorAnyone who wants to say something. No order, no pressure.
  6. The cardsExplained below. Two minutes.
  7. A toastTwenty-five today.
  8. Reflections and ConversationsThe point of the evening.
  9. Then on to
  10. To the pubThe Last Judgment, 95 Chancery Lane. We walk over together.

The reading

“Currently reading — Nineteen Eighty-Four.”

On his site Nirmit kept a shelf of what he had been reading. Beside Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four it still says: Currently Reading – forty per cent. He did not get to finish it — so that evening we will.

40% — we pick up from here

Three or four people read aloud from the page he stopped at, a few pages each, then the book stays open on the table for anyone who wants to carry on. We will keep that copy. If you read from it, put your name in the front.

The cards

Pragma — the part he left unfinished.

Pragma, the third part of his site, is the present tense — what he was building and thinking about at that moment. He left it unfinished.

There will be cards and pens on the tables. Before you leave, please write one thing: something he said to you, something he started in you, something you are going to do about it. Put it in the box by the door.

Those cards go into the section he never finished. They will be the first things in it. His parents will also, that night, learn fifty things about their son that they did not know.

03 / Where we need hands

Take one, it is yours

The date is close and most of this needs doing in the next few days. If you can take one of these, say so.

01Three or four readers

For the book. You do not need to prepare — just be willing to read a few pages aloud.

02Photographs

Someone discreet with a camera. We will want them afterwards, even though none of us feels like being photographed.

03The door

Two people to welcome everyone, hand out cards and look after the box.

04 / Before you come

Practical notes, and let us know

A couple of things to keep in mind, and who to tell that you are coming.

Practical notes

  • No dress code. Nothing black. It is his birthday.
  • Bring someone who knew him, even if we have not reached them — especially if we have not reached them.

Please let us know
